COTT’s Annual Music Awards is primarily designed to pay tribute to member songwriters, composers and music publishers, reinstating credibility to creators, whose efforts are often overshadowed by the spotlight accorded performing artistes who popularize their works.

Although the performer and songwriter are sometimes a single identity, completely different skills and talents are involved.  At the basis of COTT's corporate philosophy is the view that without the creation of music there would be no need for an entertainer.

With membership now well past the 1,000, COTT administers most of this country’s music.

This, COTT 7th Annual Music Awards, gives us an opportunity to celebrate the breadth of creativity within our musical family.

This year too, as we celebrate our 20th anniversary, COTT is pleased to announce 20 areas of creativity in our music which will be honoured tonight.

Gold The Nominees & Recipients

The COTT 7th Annual Music Awards are based on the Carnival, general, broadcasting, foreign and recording rights distributions paid to Nominees between November 2003 and August 2004
