For the categories of Songwriter, Female Songwriter, New Songwriter, and Publisher of the Year the criteria are based on performance and recording of various songs written or co-written by the nominees according to broadcast logs, live performances, recordings and other data provided to COTT during the period 2004 to 2005.
Classic of the Year is based on a composition released over 10 years ago, but which is still being performed and/ or recorded in T&T or overseas according to broadcast logs, live performances, recordings and other data provided to COTT during the period 2004 to 2005.
Jingle of the Year is based on an existing composition, which was adapted for use in commercial advertising and licensed by COTT during the period 2004 to 2005.
All other "Song" categories are based on performance and recording of the nominated songs written by the respective nominees according to broadcast logs, live performances, recordings & other data provided to COTT for the period 2004 to 2005.
Golden Achievement is conferred on a long-standing member of COTT whose music is still active and who has contributed to the growth and development of T&T music.
Treasured Licensee is conferred on a customer of COTT who respects the value of music and who co-operates by willingly paying royalties on a timely basis.
Points to note:
If a song was nominated previously for an award show, it does not qualify for nomination in the next year’s awards.
Although a song is not from the current year, it may still be generating royalties, according to the statistics provided to COTT during the distribution period.
The statistics exclude Carnival 2005.
