COTT's Core Purpose is:

• Licensing the use of music in traditional, new and evolving formats
• Collecting royalties for the use of music
• Increasing royalty distributions to right-holders
• Educating members of Trinidad and Tobago society on the importance of respecting the value of music�
• Local advisor to government and non-governmental institutions such as the University, trade unions and organisations operating in related sectors such as broadcasting and advertising on music rights issues
• Local liaison to international stakeholders on music rights issues
